SuperFly was Les Dunham. Even genuine Dunham pimpmobiles of one kind and another usually don’t go for crazy money, and Barris isn’t known for them in particular, so “Barris pimpmobile fan” is not a demographic. There are no custom features or bodywork far out of the pale as per Barris usual here, because it was a *kit* that Barris worked out you could get at the dealership.

I wasn’t going to ruin my own joke. The car dealer badge on trunk ruined it. They probably got 1 of 13 in the multi-state region. Maybe even wider since volume was so much lower in 1970.

The three pointed star headlight caps make me think they went ala carte after the Barris package to roll their own look.

I agree. The genre trended towards outrageous color and fabric combinations those just coming up from the street used to gain attention. This is probably nearer to the low key car a successful flesh merchant rolling around with profuse amounts of drugs and cash would prefer.
